Dharma Dialogue with Bonnie Myotai Treace Sensei, Lisa Gakyo Schaewe, and Geoff Shōun O'Keeffe

Lisa Gakyo and Geoff Shoun talk with Bonnie Myotai Treace about her beginning practice at Zen Mountain Monastery in 1983 and becoming a teacher, leaving the monastery after 27 years, teaching and leading a practice community outside of a structured monastic setting, her experiences with patriarchal aspects of the tradition and dedication to ensuring women's voices were included in Zen teachings.

The Q&A includes discussion on what calls us to meditation practice, the nature of spiritual sobriety, and how to balance equanimity with a sense of urgency in responding to the world's suffering.
